We all wash our hair regularly…… right????
Here are 5 mistakes you might be making….
1. You use the same shampoo every day, 365 days of the year…
Firstly do not wash your hair every day – you are stripping it of all its natural oils and shine…..every other day is good…. you should switch shampoos every couple of months to prevent a build-up of certain ingredients in your hair (eg silicones).
2. You are not completely soaking your hair with water before you apply the shampoo…
The shampoo will not lather and create a mousse without enough water…you might then be adding more product to compensate and it is not necessary – it strips the hair and your wallet!! Stand for an extra minute under the shower spray before you grab your shamps.
3. You always dollop the shampoo in the same spot on your head (probably the crown)…
You might notice you are getting dry or flaky scalp in that same area…. try rubbing the shampoo in your hands and then smooth all over your head.
4. You are rubbing your head to hard…
Go gently…don’t damage or break your hair….massage your scalp all over with your fingertips not your nails or palms.
5. You are rinsing with too hot water…
If the water is too hot it will dry your hair and scalp. Rinse with lukewarm water instead.
